FIRST FOODS: Av­o­ca­dos, quinoa and hum­mus are among the foods ba­bies en­joy most dur­ing wean­ing but more tra­di­tional dishes re­main firm favourites too, with 75% en­joy­ing beef stew and sausages and mash on the first taste. BOWIE ART: An ex­hi­bi­tion of selected works from Gifts to the Star­man, a STEAM-in­spired cre­ative com­pe­ti­tion for chil­dren and young adults, is run­ning at Black­rock Cas­tle Ob­ser­va­tory. Eight win­ning pieces fea­ture along­side a hand­made rice pa­per seri­graph ‘Star’, that David Bowie made for a friend as a Christ­mas gift in 1975. The ex­hi­bi­tion is at BCO un­til Jan­uary 7, be­fore mov­ing to Dublin for the David Bowie Fes­ti­val;
