“My favourite app is Bodyweight by Freeletics. It builds programmes based on your sex, fitness levels and goals — but best of all they are all bodyweight exercises so you do not need any equipment. Perfect for travelling or when stuck at home!”

“I love a gadget and the Tom Tom Touch will be high up on my gift list ideas. The activity tracking will track everything from steps, active minutes, distance walked, calories burnt and sleep time. I couldn’t help at the beginning

checking every few hours how much I actually do in a day and it amazed me how my inner competitive side started to take over and see could I beat what I had done the previous day to increase my calorie spend.”

Siobhan Byrne, www.bodybyrne.ie

“The only app I use is the Fitbit. I just bought a Fitbit Blaze so I’m getting used to the functionality of the app. I previously had the Fit Bit HR. I mainly use the app for monitoring sleep and my daily steps. I find it really useful for days that I’m in the office. It makes me get up and move from my desk.”
