Fanning linked with Waterford hot-seat

Irish Examiner - Sport - - GAA -

As Waterford continue to seek a replacement for Derek Mcgrath as senior hurling manager, sources have indicated that Wexford selector and Waterford native Padraic Fanning has met with representatives of the senior panel.

Mount Sion clubman Fanning has plenty of intercounty experience, having been a se- lector with Davy Fitzgerald during the Clare man’s tenure in both Waterford and Wexford.

Waterford icon Tony Browne and Tipperary All-ireland-winning captain Tommy Dunne, who has extensive coaching experience, are among the names who have been linked to Fanning’s backroom team if he is successful.
