Cork SHC Round 3 Sarsfields v Carrigtwohill, Ballynoe (C Mcal- lister), 7.30pm.

Carrigtwohill can’t show the same dependency on Liam Gosnell as they did when going down to Blackrock in the opening round. Gosnell, who was part of the Midleton CBS team which reached the Harty Cup final earlier this year, accounted for 0-11 of their 1-12 tally against the Rockies. Hard to envisage the Carrigtwohill defence being able to keep a lid on Daniel Kearney, Tadhg Óg Murphy, Aaron Myers, Liam Healy, and Jack O’connor.

Verdict: Sarsfields

Premier IHC Round 2 Blarney v Watergrasshill, Mourneabbey (D Farrell Jnr), 7.30pm.

These two teams met in the opening round in 2017, with Blarney scoring a 1-11 to 0-9 victory. Out- side of last year’s relegation playoffs, Watergrasshill’s last championship win came at Blarney’s expense in May of 2016.

Verdict: Blarney

Carrigaline v Inniscarra, Ovens (B Murphy), 7.30pm. Carrigaline only managed four points from play during their firstround defeat to Fermoy. That return will need to be improved upon this evening. Inniscarra are chasing a first championship win since 2016. They enter the tie off the back of a comprehensive Division Two league win over Dungourney the Saturday before last.

Verdict: Carrigaline

IHC Round 4 Blackrock v Dungourney, Fermoy (C O’regan), 8pm.

Dungourney are bidding to reach the quarter-final stages for the second time in three years. Blackrock have recovered well since losing their opening game to Midleton. Michael O’halloran and Cathal Cormack, having not played with the seniors this summer, are once again eligible to line out for the club’s second team.

Verdict: Dungourney.
