Riyad Mahrez looked lost and short of confidence before finally getting the hook in the second half against Newcastle. The Algerian winger doesn’t seem to know whether to stick or twist in his attacking role — passing when he should take on his man, or trying to drift past the full back when the Magpies had cover. There’s no doubting his talent as everyone saw in his vital role during Leicester City’s title-winning campaign. But he needs something to go his way at the Etihad because after four games in a lighter shade of blue, he’s not offering the same threat that City had in their Centurion season without him.
