The Cork Artistes Variety Show takes to the Everyman stage in Cork tomorrow night with old-fashioned humour and music. Headlining the night are the Cork Tenors, Lorraine Manley, comedian Frank Twomey and the Donal Ring Céilí band. The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost €25.everymancork.com
2 Pop goes the Orchestra
Evelyn Grant has created a new live multimedia concert for primary and post primary schools with the Cork Pops Orchestra ‘A World of Rhythm’, which takes place in City Hall Cork on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and on Friday at University Concert Hall, Limerick. She is joining forces with award-winning producer and composer DJ Dashka, singer Phoebe Dipple and Chris Hurley from the Cork Film Centre, to create a show to introduce a younger audience to the joy of a live music with the use of digital technology.

3 Floral Demo
Friends of the Down Syndrome Centre Cork are holding a fundraiser on Thursday at the Tivoli Room in the Clayton Silversprings Hotel in Cork. The Christmas floral demonstration which will be presented by DJ Murphy of Bandon Garden Centre. Monies raised will go towards its centre at Forge Hill House to provide support to families and carers of children with Down Syndrome. Tickets of €10 each are available on 021 4915616.
4 Shoebox Appeal
There is still time to take part in this year’s Team Hope Shoebox Appeal.
Team Hope wants to deliver 280,000 shoeboxes this year which will be delivered directly into the hands of a child in need. For most of these children, it is the only present they will receive all year. All you have to do is find an empty shoebox, wrap it in Christmas paper and fill it with gifts for a boy or girl aged between 2 and 14, attach €4 and bring it to a local drop off point before Friday. 5 Screen Magic
The country’s largest film festival kicks off on Friday and runs until November 18.
