€5k reward for info on bird poisoning

Irish Examiner - - News -

A €5,000 reward has been offered for information leading to the prosecution of those responsible for the poisoning last year of 23 buzzards on West Cork farmland.

The incident was the single largest poisoning of birds of prey in Ireland for decades. The buzzards, a protected species, were poisoned by carbofuran, which has been banned in Ireland for over a decade. A spokesperson for the Amica Projects, a registered animal welfare charity, urged anyone with information to contact it in strict confidence on buzzardinformation@gmail.com or by phone on 087 7090729.
