Enet hires legal veteran
TELECOMS firm Enet, which this week split with SSE over the Government’s separate National Broadband Plan, has appointed Claire Murphy as group general counsel and company secretary.
Ms Murphy, pictured, will have responsibility for all legal work-streams for the group, as well as corporate governance matters.
In addition, she assumes the title of head of shared services, where she will have responsibility for human resources, business transformation initiatives, and regulatory matters.
Ms Murphy brings over 13 years of experience in the legal profession to the role, having worked both in industry, in the utility and card payments sector, and in private practice in Irish law firms.
“Claire’s expertise and dynamism is a great fit for the senior leadership team at Enet,” said Enet CEO Bartley McElroy.
“Her strategic and legal experience coupled with her ability to manage stakeholders and change aligns with Enet’s development plans.”
A solicitor, Ms Murphy studied business and law and has a masters in commercial law from UCD. Ms Murphy said she was “excited” about joining the company.
