-

CATALOGUES are now available for the upcoming Tattersalls Ireland Flat Foal and Breeding Stock Sale which takes place at the Co Meath complex on Friday, November 10.

A total of 206 lots make up the foal section, with 13 firstseason sires represented. These include Anjaal, Cable Bay, Cappella Sansevero.

A further 51 broodmares and potential broodmares complete the catalogue. Damsires include Acclamation, Choisir, Dark Angel and Fastnet Rock.

A selection of eye-catching foals include Lot 32, a colt by Kingston Hill and from the same family as Listed winner Sweetness Herself.

Another one of note is Lot 78, a colt by Dandy Man out of Brilliant Crystal, who is a half-sister to Listed winner and Group 1 placed Hamish McGonagall.

From the broodmares section, some of the standout lots include Rose Angel (Lot 221), a four-time winner in foal to Camacho, and La Arcadia (Lot 236), a half-sister to Group 3 winner Stotsfold and in foal to Pearl Secret.

Several 2016 graduates made their mark at the September Yearling Sale this autumn, producing some very successful pinhooks.

A bay filly by Society Rock out of Coolminx purchased by Tally-Ho Stud for €14,500 realised €160,000, while a bay colt by Requinto out of Maraglen was purchased by Danesrath Stud for €11,000 and sold for €85,000 to the Hong Kong Jockey Club. Both were bought as foals at the 2016 Flat Foal and Breeding Stock Sale.

November Sales

Meanwhile a new format has been introduced for the Goffs November Sale which takes place in two parts from November 20-26.

Part 1 will begin with what were traditionally ‘Day 3’ foals, building to a climax on Wednesday when the top tier foals will be offered.

These ‘Book 1’ Foals will be stabled from the outset which will provide potential purchasers with ample time to inspect prior to the commencement of the sale in a format that mirrors the approach of the very successful Orby Yearling Sale.

The premier breeding stock will sell on Thursday followed by another full day of mares on Friday.

Part 2 will feature a further two days of foal sales on Saturday and Sunday.

All foals will be catalogued together with a separate catalogue for breeding stock.

Catalogues are now available online.
