Golden land hits €15,700/ac
LAND AT Golden in Co Tipperary continues to make a golden price. A 130ac farm sold by Alison De Vere Hunt of Cashel Marts earlier in the year made over €17,000/ac, while last week auctioneer Mark Donovan sold a 65ac residential farm at Ballyslatten, Golden for €1.02m or almost €15,700/ac.
Located between Golden, New Inn and Bansha the property includes a two-storey, three bedroom residence in need of complete renovation, a yard with a wide range of buildings in need of modernisation and the best of Tipperary ground with plenty of road frontage.
At auction proceedings got under way when auctioneer Mr Donovan accepted a strong bid of €600,000.
Three customers initially showed cause and two remained as the price strengthened. At €1m the place went on the market and it sold to an adjoining farmer for €1.02m.
CLOUGHALEIGH AUCTION
Staying in Golden, John FitzGerald of Dougan FitzGerald is bringing to auction a 22ac parcel of land at Cloughaleigh. He is guiding the private treaty sale at €11,000/ac.
Situated about 5km from Golden the lands are the best of grazing ground with a decent bit of road frontage and backing on to the River Suir at the rear.
The land is being sold as part of a consolidation process and according to Mr FitzGerald it would be ideal as grazing for replacement heifers or for fodder harvesting.
“This is a lovely bit of ground, all in one division and well priced,” Mr FitzGerald said.
