Music with Eddie Rowley

- ROCKIN’ ROWLEY

DO YOU think you have what it takes to be the next Nathan Carter, Derek Ryan or Lisa McHugh?

If so, then give yourself the chance to become Ireland’s Next Big Country Star by entering a nationwide competition with the top prize of a trip to Kentucky, USA, where the winner will perform on stage at the famous Red, White and Boom Festival. Plus, you will also have the opportunity to support one of Ireland’s top Irish country music stars at a home concert or dance.

Over the next couple of months, the Sunday World newspaper, in association with Kentucky Ale, will hold competition nights in venues across Ireland for young country singers and singer-songwriters.

If you want to take part, then record a short clip of yourself singing with live accompaniment to show off your talent. Once you have uploaded your brief performance with the relevant details ( see below), you will be eligible to take part in this exciting opportunity that money can’t buy.

The heats will be judged by industry professionals and contestants should round up their friends and encourage them to come out and show their support for what promises to be a series of unforgettable nights packed with fun and lots of exciting performances.

All the finalists will be profiled in the Sunday World, the bible of Irish country music. To enter, participants must:

• upload a live performance audition clip with live accompaniment on www. buzz.ie/countrystar;

• include a short bio with your entry describing yourself, your influences, experience and the reason you feel you should be crowned Ireland’s Next Big Country Music Star.

One winning contestant from each of the five heats will be chosen to go forward to the grand final.
