Standing room was tight at the Wexford mart last week due to the large amount of cattle buyers present. These large numbers saw prices escalate into full spring mode. Beef bullocks sold from €670-1,085/hd over the €/kg with heavy Friesians making from €480-720/hd over the €/kg. Hereford and Angus stores made from €425-890/hd with their weight, while light Friesian types made from €175-440/ hd with their weight. Beef heifers sold from €650-1,000/hd with the €/kg, while store heifers sold from €325-870/hd with €/kg.
