FIVE BURSARIES OFFERED TO STUDENTS
FIVE aspiring young farmers are being offered the opportunity of an Agricultural Education Bursary to the value of €1,000 in association with the Irish Hereford Breed Society.
The applicants are being invited to submit an assignment entitled A Young Farmer’s Opportunities and Challenges in Beef Farming to a maximum of 2,000 words complete with their name, address and contact number by email no later than Friday 31 August 2018 to: herefordbursary@gmail.com.
Ten finalists chosen from the entries received will be interviewed at the National Ploughing Championships at Tullamore on Wednesday, September 19 from which the five to receive the bursary will be selected.
“Due to the popularity of the Irish Hereford Bursary Competition, over the past two years attracting interest from numerous aspiring students hoping to pursue a career in the agri-sector, we have decided to organise it again for the third consecutive year,” said Irish Hereford Society Secretary, Larry Feeney.
The bursaries are awarded in collaboration with Slaney Foods International and Lidl Ireland, both of
whom support the programme.
