YOUNG women from home and abroad are set to flock to Tullamore this weekend to compete in the 2018 Clarke Machinery Group Queen of the Land Festival in Co Offaly.

Monaghan country singer Marty Mone will entertain the masses on Friday and will no doubt treat the crowd to a rendition of his smash hit tune ‘Hit the Diff’ in the Palace Nighclub.

The 30 contestants will be interviewed by the judging panel on Saturday which consists of IFA president Joe Healy, NPA’s Anna-Maria McHugh and sponsor Gerard Clarke. This will be followed by a treasure hunt and on-stage interviews in the town’s Bridge House Hotel.

On Sunday morning the contestants will attend a special mass in the Church of the Assumption.

The gala banquet will take place that night where one of the women will be crowned Queen of the Land and fill the shoes of 2017 Kildare Macra member and medical student Emma Birchall who won the prize last year.

If you’re interested in a fun-filled weekend and getting your glad rags on, tickets for the three-day event can be purchased at the door of the event each night or online at queenofthelandfestival.com.
