For­get U2. In the 1980s, it was Mov­ing Hearts who were show­ing just how ver­sa­tile Ir­ish mu­sic could be thanks to their fu­sion of trad with jazz and con­tem­po­rary sounds. This wholly in­stru­men­tal al­bum was a thrilling dis­til­la­tion of the gifts of Dó­nal Lunny, uileann pipe player Davy Spil­lane and sax and clar­inet mae­stro Keith Don­ald among oth­ers. The ti­tle track and ‘The Lark’ are mas­ter­ful.
