Questions about ‘new politics’

The phrase that has been popping up in political circles for over a year now is “new politics”.

New politics seems to me to mean a series of questions, along these lines:

1. Who is the real Taoiseach, Enda Kenny or Micheál Martin?

2. Who is the Transport Minister? We know it’s not Shane Ross, he’s the Justice Minister.

3. Who is the Defence (or De Fence) Minister? Well, that’s easy. It’s Michael Healy-Rae.

4. Who is the Social Protection Minister? It’s definitely not Leo Varadkar. He is the headlines minister.

5. Who is the Housing Minister? It can’t be Simon Coveney. Isn’t he the ‘no housing minister’ for up to 7,000 adults and children?
