Breath of fresh air

With plenty of green areas, and the mountains as its backdrop, Glenside is a little bit of the countryside – just half an hour from Dublin city centre

FOR buyers who want to be close to good transport and shopping options – and have the mountains outside their back door to boot -- the final phase of Glenside in Carrickmines could be just what they’ve been waiting for.

Knight Frank New Homes, who are currently selling the few remaining properties of the existing phase in Glenside, have just announced the autumn 2017 launch of the final phase of the development.

Comprising a selection of three, four and five-bedroom homes by McStay Luby and funded by the National Asset Management Agency, Glenside at Carrickmines Green is a progressive development of contemporary, A-rated homes in an enviable setting at the foot of the Dublin mountains.

1,140 sq ft, the four-beds to 1,612 sq ft and the five-beds to 1,743 sq ft; for those in the market for something smaller, there will also be some two-bedroom apartments available here in 2018.

Glenside homes are big on design; all are contemporary in style and incorporate the kind of modern interiors that produce a luxurious living environment.

Outside, meanwhile, there is no shortage of green space in the development, with a playground for younger residents and plenty of walk ways for evening strolls or dog walking.

Even apart from its proximity to the mountains, Glenside’s location ticks a lot of boxes. The fact that it is situated adjacent to Carrickmines Retail Park – one of the most popular shopping venues in south Dublin – means that it is literally a stone’s throw from numerous high-street names shops and cafes including TK Maxx, Smyths, Boots, McDonalds and Costa Coffee. Leopardstown Shopping Centre is also close by, with a vibrant mix of shops including Dunnes Stores and, of course, the ever popular Dundrum Town Centre is just minutes away by car. For those who prefer more of a village atmosphere when they shop, the boutique and bistro-laden Foxrock is a short drive away.

For commuters, Glenside is just off exit 15 on the M50, meaning easy access to Dublin Airport, Dun Laoghaire and all main routes nationwide. Dublin city centre is about a half hour’s drive away via the N11, and the Luas Green Line extension is within walking distance. The area is also well-served by Dublin Bus routes 63 and 44.

And for families, the new homes are walking distance from Gaelscoil Shliabh Rua, while other nearby schools include St Brigid’s Girls’ National School in Cabinteely, St Brigid’s Boys’ National School in Foxrock as well as Cabinteely Community School and Loreto Secondary School.
