Dunmurry launch new Pro-Am Matchplay event

-

FAIR weather golfers put their clubs away at this time of year but Dunmurry Springs in Co Kildare has plans to keep you swinging and improving over the winter months.

The club will launch the Horan Golf Winter Series next month – a men’s fourball matchplay event for amateurs and professionals.

The handicap limit is nine and the entry fee for the entire tournament is €100 per pair (€50pp), which includes competition entry and green fees for a minimum of three rounds.

That’s cheaper than a sleeve of ProV1s and if you go all the way to the final, you could play up to seven rounds, which represents the best value golf available anywhere this winter.

Sponsored by Mikey Horan from Birr Golf Shop, the event is limited to 32 pairs, and the deadline for entries is October 12.

Seán Ó Gallchóir, Golf Sales Manager at Dunmurry Springs, said: “This is a new and exciting opportunity for both professional and amateur golfers to play together, to test each other’s golf game while competing to win the matchplay competition.

“It is ideal for those that play Barton Shield, Senior Cup, Barton Cup and Jimmy Bruen in inter-club competitions throughout the year.

“I feel matchplay is the best form of golf so attracting a high calibre of entries should bode well for those who compete in future competitions in 2018.”

Entries are now open so please contact Seán Ó Gallchóir on 045 533633 or email sean@dunmurrysprings.ie to enter your pair.
