Big scoop for the Late Late

-

THE LATE LATE SHOW RTÉ ONE, TONIGHT, 9.35PM SAY what you like about Hillary Clinton – and Lord knows, there’s plenty to say – but there’s no doubt that tonight’s Late Late features a serious coup in bagging an interview with her, which airs tonight.

Bizarrely, some people complained that host Ryan Tubridy missed a few days of his radio show to go to the States to conduct the interview, but he was hardly going to do it over the phone, was he?

She might be one of the nastiest pieces of work in recent political history and she is certainly the most disastrous candidate anyone can remember, but she is the interview every TV network in the world wanted to secure. Whether there will be anything insightful or even honest in the interview remains to be seen, and it’s probably fair to predict that Tubridy will give her an easy ride.

But it is a proper scoop

and many people will tune in simply to throw things at the telly when she starts her demented blame game and refuses to accept any personal responsibility for losing to a man nobody thought could win.

He would have been in the States the same day Anthony Weiner was jailed for sending dick pics to teenagers, and it will be interesting to see Tubs broaches that rather (t)horny topic. The Graham Norton

Show (BBC1, tonight, 10.35pm) returns with a line up that will be hard to beat. He’s joined in studio by Harrison Ford and Ryan Gosling to promote Blade

Runner 2049, the hotly awaited sequel to the 1982 sci-fi noir classic.

The original remains one of the most beautiful pieces of art ever committed to celluloid and while there may have been concerns among fans that this sequel would somehow besmirch the memory, the trailers certainly look stunning.

Margot Robbie and Reece Witherspoon are also scheduled to talk about their latest flicks, while music comes from the always wonderful Bananarama, who will be singing Cruel Summer.

One of the most promising documentaries of the weekend is on TV3 tonight 10.50pm.

The 4th Act looks at the billion euro regeneration of Ballymun and speaks to the only people who matter – the ones who live in the area...

By the time you read this, OJ Simpson may have been released from jail. The Secret Tapes Of The OJ Case: The Untold Story (History, tomorrow, 10pm) promises to reveal previously unheard, secretly recorded tapes in which he discusses the circumstance leading to his infamous slow-mo Bronco car chase.

If that makes you nostalgic for the 90s, National Geographic is running all episodes of the entertaining The 90s: The Decade That Connected Us from 8pm.
