McDermott pounces to deny Limerick at death

-

LONDON 2-8 LIMERICK 2-8

ANTHONY McDERMOTT’s injury-time goal denied Limerick their first league win in Ruislip yesterday.

Limerick struggled in the first-half, a Jamie Lee free their only score in the opening 25 minutes.

London took the lead on 15 minutes when Ryan Elliott was tugged back in the area. Fergal McMahon drilled his penalty down the middle and into Donal O’Sullivan’s net.

Limerick found their groove in the final 10 minutes of the half with Gareth Noonan and Danny Neville kicking their first points from play and they led 1-4 to 1-2 at the interval after a goal for Ryan.

London were level by the 50th minute and moved in front through a point from Adrian Moyles.

Moyles kicked three successive points for London, but they looked set to go home empty-handed when Ryan hammered home in the final minute.

However, London rallied in injury-time and they were rewarded with McDermott’s late goal.
