Awesome Arthur hits 4-12 for Louth

LOUTH 4-17 LONGFORD 5-7

-

NIALL ARTHUR bagged a superb 4-12 of his side’s 4-17 total as he inspired Louth to victory over Longford at Pearse Park.

The Wee County had a one-point cushion at the half-time interval thanks to excellent points from Paddy Lynch and Arthur but the midlanders stayed in contention with two glorious first-half goals from Patrick Walsh.

Arthur continued to pose a serious threat to the Longford rearguard and with almost every opportunity he found the target.

Longford’s Daniel Connell was issued with a straight red card in the closing minutes.

Louth appeared to be able to go through the extra gears when needed and closed out with a volley of scores.
