Brady at the double as Cavan stage fightback

CAVAN 3-8 FERMANAGH 0-16

-

CAVAN erased a 10-point deficit at Kingspan Breffni Park yesterday en route to bagging their first league points of the season.

The hosts looked destined for yet another defeat as they trailed by 0-12 to 0-4 at half-time playing against the breeze, as Shea Curran notched nine first-half points.

Cavan hit back, though, with Philip Brady’s 49th-minute goal the springboard for what was to be a storming comeback.

In the 56th minute Fermanagh keeper Colum McPhillips batted out Kevin Conneely’s penalty, but Brady netted the rebound, while Cavan sub Cormac Wall goaled in the 67th minute.
