Alannah sent packing from ‘DWTS’ despite searing samba

- Sean O’Grady

SHE was in the dance-off for the second week in a row, and last night model Alannah Beirne was sent packing from ‘Dancing With The Stars’.

The Kildare woman (24) was praised by the judges for her searing samba with Vitali Kozmin, and scored 24 points.

But unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to save her and the judges opted to save Erin McGregor instead.

“I had Vitali as my dance partner and he pushed me,” said Beirne.

“I’m proud of us. I went out there every Sunday and gave it my all. It is what it is.

“I’m looking forward to going out every Sunday,” she laughed.

The former ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’ contestant is now looking forward to the next stage of her career, and is hoping to end up on the catwalk of Victoria’s Secret.

“Every girl’s dream is to walk on that catwalk. I would love to strut my stuff down Victoria’s Secret,” she told the Irish Independent.

All the celebrities were praised for their performances this week.

Despite landing in the bottom two, McGregor received the top score of the week for her waltz with Ryan McShane, being awarded an impressive 29 points out of 30 by the judges.

Jake Carter came in a close second with 27 points, with his older brother, country singer Nathan Carter, in the audience to lend his support.

Comedian Deirdre O’Kane danced the Charleston with John Nolan, receiving 26 points.

Meanwhile, GAA star Anna Geary and Olympic walker Rob Heffernan joined Beirne in scoring 24 points each for their performances.

The remaining five celebrities are now entering the home stretch of the show, with just three weeks remaining before one of them takes the crown from last year’s winner Aidan O’Mahony as the winner of the series.
