Buses, rail and Luas are getting back on track – but expect delays

PUBLIC transport returned mostly to normal today, although there were still some disruptions to services following the extreme weather.

Dublin Bus will operate its normal schedule, but it warned there will be some curtailments in place. It advised customers to expect delays this morning and allow extra time for their journey especially at peak times, as traffic will be heavy with schools and workplaces reopening.

“As curtailments remain in place on some routes, real time information is unavailable. It will return when full service is restored to ensure the accuracy of information for customers,” the company said.

It advised customers to check its website, which is being updated regularly.

Bus Éireann’s school transport services also resume today, but the company warned this was dependent on local road conditions and possible school closures.

It said many of these services operate in rural areas, and on minor routes and in certain parts of the country, these roads remain in a very poor condition or are impassable. Disruption is likely in parts of the east, south and south-east.

Meanwhile, Iarnród Éireann said Dart services were scheduled to operate as normal today.

In relation to the national rail network, services are operating on all routes, except Limerick to Ballybrophy via Nenagh, and Waterford to Limerick Junction. It is hoped services on these lines will resume this evening. Bus transfers will operate. All routes will be operating tomorrow.

For Luas passengers, the Red Line will operate a full service from The Point to Tallaght and Saggart. The Belgard to Saggart stops will be served by a replacement bus service. The Green Line will run a full service from Broombridge to Brides Glen.
