‘Come home, you are in no trouble’ – parents’ plea
THE parents of a missing 14-year-old girl have issued a desperate plea for her to “please come home”.
Renewed appeals were made yesterday for information on the whereabouts of Elisha Gault (inset) who went missing from her home in Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary, at about 10pm on St Patrick’s Day.
She was seen on nearby Dillon Bridge shortly after that. Gardaí were last night investigating a number of reported sightings of the teenager as her concerned father Cameron told the Irish Independent that her family just want to know she is safe.
He added: “We want to let her know she’s in no trouble whatsoever if she comes home – just make contact with us and let us know if you’re alive.
“We’re hoping that one of her friends outside her usual circle of mates is hiding her at the moment.”
Elisha lives on New Street in Carrick-on-Suir with her family. Her mother Grainne also made an appeal on Facebook for anyone with information to get in touch.
“If you know of her whereabouts, tell her she isn’t in trouble, she won’t be forced to come home if she doesn’t want to,” she wrote. “We just want to know she’s safe and well and we can call off all the search efforts and that myself, her daddy and her three sisters love her very much, no matter what.”
She thanked everybody involved in the search for their efforts.
Gardaí believe there is a strong chance that the 14-yearold, who is a pupil at Comeragh College in Carrick-on-Suir, is still alive.
“We have nothing to suggest otherwise,” he said.
Superintendent William Leahy, of Clonmel garda station, urged anyone with information to contact gardaí.
