HEATING TECHNOLOGY AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
THE MITSUBISHI ELECTRIC HOME ADVICE THEATRE WILL HAVE PRESENTATIONS AND TALKS THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND ABOUT THE FUTURE OF HEATING TECHNOLOGY
“Even though heat pumps have been on the market for many years, it is still seen as a new technology,” says David McConnell, Mitsubishi Electric’s Heating Product Manager for the Irish market. A heat pump is an eco-friendly heating system which provides all heating and hot water for a home. It is a technologically advanced solution to increasing energy costs and a high environmental impact from traditional heating systems. “Our heat pump is a high-efficiency heating system run on electricity. The system takes naturally occurring energy from the air and uses this to provide 100pc of domestic space heating and hot water. The heat pump reduces running costs and there is no flue needed to channel gases outside. This means there is no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning and it’s much safer for the environment.” Mitsubishi Electric has been based in Ireland for over 35 years selling advanced air conditioning systems, heating systems and factory automation systems. This year at the spring permanent TSB Ideal Home Show, their stand will focus on their new Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan Air Source heat pump. “Our system, MELCloud, allows you to use your smartphone, laptop or tablet to control the heating system from anywhere in the world. If you are coming back from a weekend away, you can turn on the heating with your phone an hour before so it’s lovely and warm when you step inside the house. We are very proud of its efficiency and we are looking forward to showing this to visitors at the Ideal Home Show.” David says this is the perfect time for people to consider installing a heat pump in their home. A new heat pump system grant from the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) is available from April 16th. This provides up to €3,500 off the cost of the installation. “We will be available at our stand to advise people about these grants and answer any questions they may have. We will also have a mock-up of an installation at the show so people can see the size of the heat pump and what it would look like in their home. “It’s always exciting to be able to engage with people and we hope people leave the show knowing more about our products.” For more information, visit www.idealhome.ie and visit the Mitsubishi Electric Home Advice Theatre at the show, or, www.mitsubishielectric.ie/heating
