Enva Group is closing in on a deal to buy rival firm Clearcircl­e Environmen­tal Ireland.

Clearcircl­e was sold to management by IPL Plastics (formerly known as One51) last year, though IPL retained a 25pc stake. That deal was worth around €30m.

If a sale proceeds it is likely that Clearcircl­e will be valued at more than that.

Because of “campaigns that spread fake or malevolent informatio­n”, Africa “is seen as a territory of non-governance, if not corruption”, Bolloré CEO Vincent Bolloré has written in a column titled ‘Should we abandon Africa?’

The French billionair­e was charged by French investigat­ors on Wednesday in a probe of possible bribes in Togo and Guinea to win port contracts. Mr Bolloré denies the charges.

AMCS, a fast-growing Limerick software group, has raised €100m in fresh funding in the largest investment deal ever completed by a private Irish technology company.

It includes €40m in cash from the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund (ISIF) and €10m invested by Insight Venture Partners, the main existing investor in AMCS.
