Broken state of Ireland Inc

It seems Ireland Inc has not learned from the Brigid McCole case where the Government of the day tried all means to silence her about its failures.

Now we learn the State is still trying to silence victims of its incompetence and ministers are being told like dummies what to say to cover up the failures of faceless public servants.

Ireland Inc itself is broken also in terms of getting public housing built; an apartment block near me has been lying unfinished for three years while the local council has allowed other developers to start projects without the existing one being completed. What happens if all the developers run into problems?

Public transport is also grinding to a halt, especially in Dublin where the traffic department only considers bikes and trams to be worthy of priority.

Dublin Bus and other services are being held up by the city council’s inept traffic ‘management’; taxi ranks have been removed so those with mobility issues cannot access the centre.

It seems the Dublin City CEO only wants fit cyclists to visit.

At least Cork business leaders fought to save their businesses as Dublin’s have just rolled over and let the council ruin the city centre.

If the Government had hopes of attracting UK business after Brexit, they’ll be well and truly scuppered once the advance guard from the City of London see what a mess the country is in. Brendan Lynch Co Wicklow
