GUI endorses Lawrie’s new booking system

-

THE GUI is endorsing a new tee-time booking management system developed by former European Tour player Peter Lawrie – BookGolf365.

The new system, which will be branded Golfnet in Ireland, is designed to eliminate the barter system offered by other tee-time booking engines, allowing clubs to maximise their green fee revenue and take back control of their green fee pricing.

Under the barter system, clubs give away tee times in exchange for free access to the providers’ software.

These tee times are often sold off at bargain basement prices, leading to a “race to the bottom” scenario.

The GUI hopes its endorsement of BookGolf365 will result in a win-win for all parties.

“The Golfing Union of Ireland recognised that action was needed to provide an alternative to the existing barter system and develop an alternative tee time booking management system,” said Pat Finn, CEO of the GUI.

“BookGolf365 is an excellent product. It is sophisticated and yet simple to use. We would encourage all member clubs to investigate this new software.”

Peter Lawrie said: “The team at BookGolf365 have already enabled a number of clubs to “go live” with our software and are looking forward to working closely with more golf clubs in Ireland.

“The feedback from our existing customers has been very encouraging and we are excited to be in a position to support and give back to Irish golf.”
