Ignorance of Church teaching

■ Two letters in the Irish Independent on Tuesday were written by people who respectively criticised Catholic and Presbyterian teaching. Both showed an appalling ignorance of the teachings of the Churches concerned.

Those who do not accept the teachings of a Church have no right to call themselves a members of that Church. Those who are not members have no right to dictate what a Church should teach its members. Frank Murphy
