Royal connection down by the Boyne

Donacarney Wood, Mornington, Co Meath

-

DONACARNEY Wood is set on the grounds of the eponymous Donacarney House, a 19th-century country pile near the Co Meath village of Mornington that was once home to Henry Daly, the High Sheriff of Louth during British occupation.

Calmont is developing 80 four and five-bed semi-detached and detached family houses beside Donacarney demesne’s woodlands in Mornington, which sits where the River Boyne meets the Irish Sea. There are five properties for sale from Donacarney Wood’s initial launch. Four are 1,442 sq ft fourbed semis costing from €325,000, while one is in a four-bed detached style with 1,615 sq ft of living space and at €365,000.

The facades are finished in a warm English Natural Birtley buff brick to the front bay, K Rend champagne-coloured render to the other half of the front elevation, and sandstone to the sills of the pebble-grey Alu clad windows.

There is enough parking for two cars in the front cobble-lock driveway, while to the back, double doors off the kitchen/living space lead to a rear garden.

The kitchens were made by Italian manufacturer Pedini and feature square-edged contemporary-style worktops and upstands, as well as integrated appliances. The master bedroom and two other bedrooms are fitted with wardrobes.

The A3-rated homes are 700 metres from a new 1,000-pupil national school and 5km from Drogheda, from where there is a train link to Dublin and Belfast. Mornington is a few minutes’ drive from the M1 northern corridor and the M50.
