PREM GROUP TO SPONSOR IRISH MASTERS UNTIL 2020

TULFARRIS Hotel & Golf Resort will host the Europro Tour’s PREM Group Irish Masters until 2020, with the first staging set for the Co. Wicklow venue from August 29-31.

The club’s touring profession­al Simon Thornton will be gunning for victory at the Patrick J. Merrigan design on Blessingto­n Lakes, with personalit­ies from the worlds of sport and entertainm­ent, including soccer star Stephen Hunt and TV presenter Brian Ormond, set to play in the PREM Group Irish Masters Pro-Am on August 28.

The PGA Europro Tour offers up-and-coming golfers the chance to gain experience, with the top five money winners at the end of the season earning promotion to the European Challenge Tour.

A two-hour highlights package will be shown by Sky Sports with 98 networks around the world beaming spectacula­r images of Tulfarris Hotel & Golf Resort into 400 million homes.

Major winners Louis Oosthuizen and Carl Schwartzel, as well as Ryder Cup stars Ross Fisher and Nicolas Colsaerts have all won on the Europro Tour.

The £46,735 PREM Group Irish Masters will be the second last of the tour’s 15 events before the Grand Final on September 21.
