Strandhill duo take Australian Spoons
STRANDHILL’S Kathleen Kelpie and Christine Tighe produced an incredible scoring display to rack up 42 points and win the Australian Spoons Final in Athlone.
They edged out Wexford pair Carmel Murphy and Sheila Richardson on the back nine who had the consolation of claiming the gross prize with 34 points.
Gort’s Jane Joyce and Patricia Reddy took the runner-up honours in the Nett with 41 points.
