Cavani could miss PSG’s trip to United through injury
PARIS Saint-Germain could be without Edinson Cavani for their trip to Old Trafford tomorrow night.
The Uruguayan striker appeared to injure himself in the process of converting a penalty in PSG’s 1-0 win over Bordeaux on Saturday and was replaced soon after.
An update from the club stated: “Medical examinations have revealed an injured tendon in Edinson Cavani’s right hip.
“The treatment of this injury and the length of his unavailability will depend on the evolution of the injury over the coming days.”
This is another blow for PSG boss Thomas Tuchel, who is already without Neymar for both legs of the last-16 Champions League tie due to a metatarsal injury.
Borussia Dortmund also had cause for concern ahead of their trip to face Spurs at Wembley in Europe’s elite competition as the Bundesliga table-toppers couldn’t hold on to a three-goal lead at home to Hoffenheim.
Three goals in the last 15 minutes rescued a point for the visitors and allowed Bayern Munich to close the gap between first and second to just five points.

In La Liga, Barcelona were held to a scoreless draw by Athletic Bilbao last night making Real Madrid’s derby win on Saturday even more significant.
Real leapfrogged Atletico Madrid into second place by beating their cross-city rivals 3-1 at the Metropolitano.
Gareth Bale’s 100th goal for the club sealed the three points and put Real at the head of the chasing pack, six points behind Barcelona.
“It was a team performance, strong in every aspect, probably our best game since December,” said Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari.
