Perth welcomes cross-border idea
DUNDALK boss Vinny Perth has welcomed the idea of an end-of-season game between the champions from north and south – but would prefer it was a one-off in Dublin or Belfast.
The Lilywhites are favourites to retain their crown, and Perth would have no problem with participating in a crossborder encounter if his team qualified.
“We wouldn’t have an issue with an extra week if we were playing a game of that magnitude,” said Perth, who was speaking at the launch of eir’s 2019 League of Ireland coverage. “I think it’s a brilliant concept; we’d embrace it.”
Elsewhere, Clare born Ryan Nolan (19) has been named in the 19-man Inter Milan squad for tonight’s Europa League tie with Rapid Vienna.
