Gilligan (42) to play on after ’Bridge regrading
AN All-Ireland senior hurling winner in 1997, Niall Gilligan is to continue hurling in 2019 but with the Sixmilebridge intermediate team.
A winner of six Clare senior titles, the 42-year-old will get to line out with club’s second team after his regrading was confirmed by the Clare County Board.
Last year, Gilligan featured in his 23rd senior campaign for the Bridge, who lost out to Cratloe at the quarter-final stage. The intermediate side also exited in the last eight, going down to Scariff in a replay.
In January, Sixmilebridge appointed former Clare selector Tim Crowe as their senior team manager.
