DIAL IT IN

As you chatter away on the retro 746 Phone in Brushed Chrome (€80) from Harvey Norman, consider donating to its Making Homes partnership with the Peter McVerry Trust this February. For ways to donate, see harveynorman.ie/makinghomes.

GEEK GIFT

This is a smallish (11cm high) plant pot for a tiny cactus. It’s made of plastic and has rollers, moving robot arms, and a little plastic heart. It costs €15.24 from

redcandy.co.uk. There’s another, different, version in red. You probably want both.

SOMMAR LIVING

Is it a stool? Is it a side table? For €18, who cares? Ikea’s Tranaro is a useful little piece of furniture tough enough to live on a balcony or patio. It’s stackable, space-saving, and comes in jolly red from its forthcoming Sommar range.

FEELING FRUITY

Pineapple lovers rejoice! The shops abound with items in the shape of your favourite fruit. These three — a golden pineapple plate, candlestick, and ornament (from €3) — can be found at Flying Tiger Copenhagen (for store details see ie.flyingtiger.com).

TIGER’S EYE

Some might say that the Multi-Coloured Tiger Print Velvet Cushion (€42 from debenhams.ie) is a bit much, but over-the-top is designer Matthew Williamson’s natural habitat. It’s fringed, feather-filled, and backed with petrol-blue velvet.
