Ennis, Co Clare

Asking price: From €270,000 Agent: DNG O’Sullivan Hurley (065) 684 0200

FIRST-TIME buyers who commute to Shannon, Limerick and Galway are among the target market for the developers of Sycamore Drive, a new Ennis scheme located just a few minutes’ drive from the M18 motorway.

The development by Keogh Homes is off the old Limerick Road — about a 15-minute walk from the centre of Ennis.

The scheme of 47 three and four-bed semi-detached, detached and terraced properties launched in August. A second phase of 12 homes went on the market on February 7, and five of those are still available. Prices start at €270,000 for a three-bed semi or end-of-terrace house and at €310,000 for a four-bed version.

Externally, the houses have brick and render facades. There is a paved driveway to the front and a charging station for an electric car will be installed in the A3-rated homes. Inside, there are high ceilings throughout the ground floor and pocket doors connect the kitchen-diner to the living room.

Upstairs, there is a master bedroom and the attics in some house types are primed for a future conversion.

These homes have a concrete upper floor, facilitating the installation of underfloor heating to the ground floor and first floor.

A showhouse opens in March, but for now, the homes are selling off the plans.
