Loughman happy to take his chances
MUNSTER prop Jeremy Loughman says he is happy with how his career is progressing at the province and that he’s not afraid to do battle for game-time in a crowded roster.
Loughman (22) joined from Leinster 14 months ago, and after two appearances off the bench in his first season he has made the most of his chance this season.
“Yeah, I think it’s going well. I made the move to help get game-time and play. That’s what I want to do and loved it down here and I think I am getting the chance with a good run of games,” said Loughman, who was born in Reno, USA.
As well as seven Guinness PRO14 appearances he has earned four Champions Cup caps and he feels he is working his way up the ranking.
“I was in a similar position in Leinster when I was there, where I was at the back (of the queue) and I was just looking for game-time. It was the same here and you’ve just got to keep training away and when you get your chances try to put your best foot forward.
“This year I think I’ve been lucky and got a good run of games in the last block. Hopefully I can put my foot forward for when everyone comes back and when we have everyone back fit that I can keep my hand up for selection.”
