Rising stars in emerging schools get a taste of big time

-

IRELAND U-20s’ opening game of the U-20 Six Nations was a night to remember for four emerging schools, who took to the field during half-time at Irish Independent Park on Friday.

Ballincollig Community School; Maria Immaculata Community College, Dunmanway; Midleton CBS; and Clonakilty Community School participated in games during the interval, which saw Ireland reverse a 20-24 half-time scoreline against England to emerge 35-27 victors.

The aim of the Emerging Schools Initiative is to engage with students in non-traditional rugby schools and provide them with the opportunity to play and experience rugby.
