Stars support Sean: Legends kit out for injured fan

- Donal O’Donovan

HIGH-PROFILE names from the worlds of business, broadcasting and sport have come together to back a series of unique events in aid of injured Liverpool fan Sean Cox.

Mr Cox (53), of Dunboyne, Co Meath, suffered life-altering injuries when he was attacked on the street near Anfield ahead of Liverpool’s Champions League game against Roma last season.

A committee has been formed to organise a gala dinner in the Intercontinental Hotel, Dublin, on April 11, and an unmissable “legends” game between the Republic of Ireland and Liverpool will be played at the Aviva Stadium on April 12.

Pictured at the Aviva Stadium were committee members and supporters of the #SupportSean campaign. Further details on both events are available on supportsean.com.
