Armagh star McQuillan set to join AFL exodus

-

ROSS McQUILLAN looks set to become the latest GAA player to join an AFL club as he prepares to fly to Australia to agree terms with Essendon later this month.

The Armagh U-20 player was out for trials in Australia with four other players in April. He is son of former Armagh footballer and selector Martin McQuillan and has been involved with Armagh senior squads.

McQuillan will become the second Armagh footballer to sign for an AFL club, following on from Kevin Dyas who was with Collingwood over a decade ago.

Sligo’s Luke Towey has been linked to Richmond, while Wexford’s Barry O’Connor has joined Sydney Swans.
