Moyle make semi-finals

-

MOYLE ROVERS are the first side to book their spot in the Tipperary SFC semi-finals following the weekend’s second round of action.

The 2018 winners had too much class for senior newcomers Moycarkey/ Borris in Golden, winning by 2-17 to 1-5 with Dara Ryan and Shane Foley getting the goals while Riain Quigley was also impressive.

Loughmore/Castleiney remain in control of Group 1 following a 1-17 to 0-13 win over Moyne-Templetuohy in Templemore.

A first-half goal from Peter Nyland and an impressive salvo off the bench from Conor McGrath proved the difference.

In Group 2, JK Brackens and Kilsheelan/Kilcash drew 0-11 each to remain unbeaten with a last gasp free from ’keeper Kuba Beben rescuing a point for Brackens. Upperchurch/ Drombane remain in the hunt after a 1-11 to 0-3 win over Aherlow who are destined for the relegation play-offs.

Defending champions Clonmel Commercials are almost in the semi-finals after they made it two wins out of two against Galtee Rovers last night in New Inn, with Jack Kennedy scoring 1-4 in a 1-16 to 0-6 victory.
