McCarron woe for Farney cause

-

THE Farney County will be without the services of talented forward Jack McCarron for their two concluding games in the Allianz FL (against Kerry and Meath), as well as their Ulster SFC opener against Cavan after it’s feared he suffered a bad cartilage knee injury on IFC duty.

The Currin star was stretchered off in his club’s game with Éire Óg and he could face up to six months on the sideline.

In SFC action, Scotstown are the only team on full points from their two outings. Scotstown proved too sharp for hosts Latton, with Darren Hughes and Conor McCarthy inspiring their side to a 0-12 to 0-8 victory.

Carrickmacross defeated Castleblayney 1-12 to 0-8 at home in Emmet Park, which leaves their opponents in a battle to qualify for the playoff stages.

Castleblayney started well with a point from Dermot Malone but that was the only time they were ahead as Carrickmacross got off the mark with a brilliant goal by Aaron Lynch in the fourth minute and they took never looked back.
