Kehoe points Lilies to victory

NORTHERN teams normally spell trouble for Kildare, but they recorded a deserved win over Antrim on Saturday.

Kildare began well and led by 0-5 to 0-1 after 14 minutes. Conn Kehoe and Conor Treacy had Kildare on the board before Pádraig McKillop responded in the fifth minute. Antrim were then reduced to 14 when McKillop received a straight red card in the 19th minute.

Antrim played with greater fluency with the reduced number, closing the gap to 0-7 to 0-5 by half-time.

The second half saw four frees in the first 16 minutes, Kehoe knocking three over to help Kildare to a 0-10 to 0-6 lead. Charlie Sheridan’s goal on 58 minutes sealed their win.
