IRELAND RATINGS

- Compiled by Cian Tracey

JACOB STOCKDALE 5

Will have regretted not being more decisive for Georgia’s try. Sharp in attack in first half, creating a try. Influence faded as game wore on.

HUGO KEENAN 5

Strong in the air and, as usual, wasn’t found wanting in defence. Finished his try well, as he took his tally to three in his five Tests.

CHRIS FARRELL 5

Served up a reminder of his subtle hands with a clever reverse pass which released Burns for his try, but it was an all-too-rare creative moment.

STUART McCLOSKEY 5

Delivered a decent performance without setting the world alight. Some kicks were more accurate than others. Had a try harshly ruled out.

KEITH EARLS 4

Found it tough to get involved in the play as he was starved of possession throughout before he made way to end a frustrating afternoon.

BILLY BURNS 6

Ran the show well on his first Test start. Showed good leadership to demand the ball for Keenan’s try. Scored his first Ireland try before injury struck.

CONOR MURRAY 5

Played off a messy platform throughout and wasn’t able to boss things as he would have hoped. Linked well with Burns, but could have offered much more.

FINLAY BEALHAM 3

Serious question marks remain over the decision to switch him to loosehead, as the Connacht prop conceded penalties at the first two scrums.

ROB HERRING 5

Helped steady the lineout, as his throwing was on the money. Part of a scrum that struggled, and still not offering much in the loose.

ANDREW PORTER 4

Conceded a needless penalty for pulling the shirt of a Georgia player when Ireland were in possession. Called ashore at half-time.

IAIN HENDERSON 5

Took over the lineout calling again, which seemed to improve things. Involved in plenty of open play and threw a couple of nice passes.

JAMES RYAN 4 Chalked up his first win as captain and more assured decision-making, but repeatedly going for the posts spoke volumes for his side’s sloppiness.

TADHG BEIRNE 5

Perhaps better suited to the back-row than second-row at this level, but either way his versatility is invaluable.

WILL CONNORS 5

Busy display from the openside who looked to link play, but was unable to overly influence things before he was forced off with a head injury.

CJ STANDER 5 Carried into heavy traffic early on rather than looking to move the ball wide. His side’s top carrier (24) but couldn’t make it count on the scoreboard. BENCH IMPACT 4 Cian Healy (left) and John Ryan were sent on to shore up the struggling scrum with the latter showing up well. Ross Byrne was unable to help turn the tide, while Shane Daly made his debut.

COACH: ANDY FARRELL 4

This was a seriously poor performance which made a Georgian side, who hadn’t scored a point in either of their previous two games, look far better. Threepoint return for the second half was appalling.
