Alison Castree and Catherine Barlow paid €12 to find a sperm donor online to become mums. wishing Lauren luck. Talking about her time on show, she said: “Glor Tire is all about what you make of it.

“I mean, you could be on it and you could do nothing with it, but with me winning the competitio­n I can’t let this go to waste.

“It has definitely opened my eyes to how the country music business works.

“You’re working with live musicians, television crews, cameras, so you’re getting a wealth of knowledge, a wealth of experience, and it definitely makes you realise that you want it a wee bit more.”

Lauren, a first-year student at Ulster University in Co Antrim, is considerin­g dropping out of college to pursue music.

He said it was a nervous few minutes waiting on the results but he knew his contestant had the talent to succeed.

Barry added: “All three artists were fantastic on stage, so for Lauren to win it and for me to be here as well when she won it, I’m just elated.

“You can never know with the public what the public likes but I always had faith in her that she could win it and I know her talent is unbelievab­le.”

Palliative care worker Alison, from Clayton, Stoke, said: “A lot of people have donors but I’ve never known it where both women in a couple have been pregnant at the same time.”
