What’s it worth?
JAMIE BREESE
SIGNED Picture bearing autographs of three PMS Q I have a print of the Houses of Parliament signed by three PMS – Thatcher, Major and Blair. Could you put a A value on it please? David Winney, email Prime Ministers have traditionally been generous with signatures so they are not particularly scarce – €80 to €150 will secure an autographed photo of Baroness Thatcher, for example. A special autograph of Sir Winston Churchill, one of the most popular subjects for collectors, might command several thousand. Your item is a high-quality print of an original work by Thomas Allom (1804-1872) and is most likely one of an edition of 1,000. It’s worth betweenQ €200 and €300. I have a three-piece tea set that is part of the Tudric range of metal tablewares from Liberty. It has no design apart from a textured surface. Could you tell me something about it and any value? A Alice Rosen, Oxford As you say, your Tudric pewter items were made for Liberty & Co and designed by Birmingham-based W.H. Haseler. The style was part of the Celtic revival introduced in the 1900s. Tudric pieces are not particularly rare. Depending on the design, a basic tankard might cost you €20 to €50. A three-piece tea set with a textured, hand-hammered surface can go for around €75-€150 depending on condition. The far more sought-after wares are from the similar Cymric ranges, made of silver. A Cymric tankard sold for €10,000Q a few years ago. We have a Dr Wall teapot with cover which features a bird in a tree. Valuation please? AB Abraham, email
