Dornan does time in Sheridan’s new Maze escape film

ACTOR Jamie Dornan is to be part of an all-star cast for a new film about an infamous escape from the Maze Prison.

The 34-year-old, from Co Down, is set to appear alongside Pierce Brosnan and Peaky Blinders lead Cillian Murphy in H-block which is directed by Jim Sheridan, the man behind and My Left Foot.

The plot centres on the 1983 escape from the Co Antrim jail by 38 prisoners, including current Sinn Fein man Gerry Kelly. Just 19 were subsequent­ly tracked down.

A number of warders were injured during the break-out with one, James Ferris, dying of a heart attack after he was stabbed.

Deadline reported dad-oftwo Dornan has been cast as one of the IRA men, Murphy as OC of the provisiona­l inmates and Brosnan will portray one of the prison officers.
