Four officers shot dead

AT least four police officers have been shot dead in southern Helmand province.

Provincial police chief general Aqa Noor Kentoz said all four had been killed the night before at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Lashkar Gah, the provincial capital.

Gen Kentoz said they might have been attacked by an insider and a probe is under way.

No one has claimed responsibility yet.
